Nestled in the green rolling landscape of the Derbyshire Dales, Haarlem Studios CIC provides affordable and inspiring spaces for creative practitioners, artists and makers to work in a rural setting.
Meander the three floors of this historic mill and you’ll find contemporary, mixed media, and visual artists, jewellers, weavers, writers, ceramicists, film makers and more.
Our Ethos
As a Community Interest Company (CIC) we charge the studios at cost +10% to reinvest in studio improvements, social events, to help fund studio holder exhibitions or residencies or just to buy more cake - but whatever we decide on, we decide it together.
The studios are provided fully serviced with 24/7 access to allow each studio holder to work at their own pace, to their own timetable.
The mill complex houses other businesses and a residential property, so we just ask our studio holders to be mindful of our neighbours as well as our fellow studio holders.
In fact we only have one rule to follow - and that’s to care for one another.
We hold our creative community as something to be treasured, to be cared for and nurtured. When we walk through the door, we eneter a space of shared values and shared respect, regardless of gender, sexuality, faith or political thinking.
We celebrate diversity and positively champion kindness.
